I should have written this post nearly two weeks ago, but I forgot! I guess all the excitement took over and the blog was the last thing on my mind. But I partially keep this like a journal of events for me so I want to get this on here.
As most people know, we are welcoming another BOY into our superhero family in August. I can't lie, I really was hoping for a girl, and yes I did tear up when I found out I was wrong. (sorry future son, I got over it, promise!) I knew I would feel that way if the inevitable happened, so I wasn't surprised, but I wanted to not feel that way. What really didn't help was people being sympathetic about the baby not being a girl, that just made me want to cry again. This time around hormones are really not my friend! That only lasted for that day, and then I got my head in the game. God has seen fit to give me another boy. I guess I need the chaos, or perhaps He's just teaching me patience a little more since that is not one of my virtues!
This little guy wasn't sure he wanted to show us his goods during the ultrasound. The other two were very blatant about it, not shy at all. And they are still exhibitionists to this day! Maybe this little guy will be my modest child? We had to really prod around to get a decent look, and even then he wasn't giving it up easily. He also didn't want to give us a good profile shot. This child is already stubborn....great....I need more of that! The poor ultrasound tech had problems measuring everything he needed to because the little guy was in such a pretzel position. Legs over his head, then one leg over his head and one arm behind his head. It took a very long time to locate one of his arms, I was starting to worry he only had one! He had things all over the place and was crammed as far down into my pelvis as he could get. Silly kid! But we got to see him playing with the umbilical cord and sucking amniotic fluid. I'm always amazing during the ultrasound at all the details you can see. Like all four chambers of the heart just beating away, it's so cool!
Luckily Landon wasn't too let down by the news. He has wanted a sister since we told him I was pregnant. He was adamant that he didn't want another brother. Just the other day he asked me, "am I still getting a brother, Mom?" He was a little let down by that news, but I keep asking him what his brother should be named. He has yet to come up with an idea.
I'm excited to have another little man running wild around here. My crew of boys keeps growing and growing!
