Animals:friend or foe?

That's a question Will was asking himself our entire trip to Lake Tobias. We try to make a yearly trip.  I have pictures of Will there when he was only a month old.  Maybe that's why he is scared of animals now? Gabriel loved the safari ride. He entertained everyone on the bus near him with a new laugh he was practicing.  He sounded like he was hyperventilating and he was hilarious!  Will only liked the animals behind cages, once he learned they weren't going to touch him.  The free range animals were too much for him.  Landon enjoyed touching the animals and so did Gabriel.  This is the first year we went when it wasn't so hot you were sure you were melting.  It was cool, breezy, and all the animals were happy and active.  Perfect day!

Ready to go on the safari ride

Joy or fear?

King of the alpaca mountain

He was so happy about this trip

I snapped this right as he stuck his fingers up the elk's nose.  He did this to the female also.  They didn't seem to care one bit. They kept coming back to him for more love and elk kisses.

The petting zoo was so much fun!

Is it wrong to laugh at your child's fear?

Gabriel fed the goats.  He wasn't sure he wanted to give up the cookie that he finally
got his hands on!

This is how he walked around the entire petting zoo.  Sometimes he wasn't even peeking to see where he was going.  Thank goodness for Mommy leading him around.

Daddy took Will and Gabriel out of the petting zoo and missed the baby porcupine.

I was "goated". I had that nice mud/poo combo all over my jacket and jeans.  One goat just really wanted my cookies and I wasn't paying attention.  Nasty.

See the baby duck? All the mommies had wings full of babies, it was adorable!
It was a great time to visit the park because there were tons of baby animals.

I seriously have never gotten to see the zebras out!  I was in heaven.

Wait....could it be???  Is Will touching an animal?????
He did touch the snake and alligator at the reptile show before this.  But between those moments were the goats.  Somehow this still happened!

Hooray for Lake Tobias!
